Former England captain John Emburey is to come out of retirement to play for Middlesex against Merrion next month. The 64-times capped off-spinner will play for the county in a game arranged to benefit Philip Quinlan, a Merrion cricketer paralysed in an accident at the Anglesea Road ground three years ago.

The game, originally scheduled for Saturday 22nd June, will now take place on the Sunday with a start time of 1pm. Tickets are now on sale priced at €15, with ?5 for juniors and €30 for a family ticket. There will also be a VIP area ticket for €60 which will include a meal, special bar and an opportunity to meet the players.
