IRELAND have no injury worries ahead of today's crucial Twenty20 World Cup game against Sri Lanka at Lord's, reports Ger Siggins.

Batsman Gary Wilson had strained a groin diving in the field against New Zealand but has been declared fit to play.

The squad trained at the Nursery Ground yesterday, where temperatures soared into the high 70s. The net bowlers were driven hard, all part of a day's work with MCC Young Cricketers, the apprentice scheme that not so long ago saw Wilson, Will Porterfield and Kevin O'Brien learn their trade at the home of cricket.

Porterfield isn't daunted about the prospects of taking on the powerful Asian side, who include three of the best – and oddest – bowlers in the game in Muttiah Muralitharan, Ajantha Mendis and Lasith Malinga.

'We'll have a plan for playing them, but there's no denying it will be a great test of our lads', he said.

Porterfield expressed his sympathy for former teammate Eoin Morgan's woes after being dropped by England. 'I feel very sorry for him as a mate. Obviously we'd prefer to have him playing for us but we're over it now.

'He'll get another chance with England – and he'll take it.'
