Ireland's scheduled opening T20I of their quadrangular series against UAE has been postponed.

The Irish had opted to train in Dubai having flown there from Dublin last week.

While they arrived safely in Muscat on Wednesday, it appears that their cricket gear didn't.

Rumours of the possible postponement emerged when Ireland didn't train at the stadium on Thursday.

Despite increasingly frantic efforts to achieve a solution, the game was eventually called off and has been provisionally rescheduled for Sunday morning at 6am (UK/Ireland).

Ireland are due to face hosts Oman on Saturday at 10am.
