Teenagers Gavin Roulston and Scott Macbeth were both in the runs as Boyd Rankin's Warriors edged out Northern Knights by 22 runs in a interpro warm-up at Beechgrove.

The Bready duo added 74 in 16 overs, with 15 year-old Roulston top scoring with 45 from 61 balls (2 fours, 3 sixes), while Macbeth hit 5 fours and a six in his 41 from 51 deliveries.

Graeme Hume hit a rapid 38, while Jared Wilson (27) also added late runs as the Warriors made 184 in their 40 overs.

Mark Adair (4-17) was the pick of the Knights attack, which was badly hampered by an injury to Cian Robertson, who dislocated his right shoulder while attempting to stop a boundary.

The Knights reply started confidently as James McCollum (27) and Luke Georgeson (19) shared an opening stand of 41, but the introduction of Andy McBrine saw the innings collapse.

The Warriors skipper trapped both openers lbw, and also dismissed Ruhan Pretorius, Max Burton and Jack Dickson in a devastating four-overs spell which saw him claim 5 for 13.

Mark Adair hit a few lusty blows in his 29, while Cade Carmichael made 18, but at 108 for 9, the contest looked over.

The Knights staged a late rally with Dickson - batting for a second time - hitting a rapid 33 at number 11, adding 54 with Tom Mayes (22), but the stand was broken in the 28th overs 22 runs shy.

The teams meet again on Friday at Belmont, while the Knights are also in action on Wednesday as they travel to Oak Hill to play Leinster Lightning.
