It was an ultimately disappointing weekend for Killyclooney who were knocked out of the cup by Fix Lodge on Saturday, then lost at Eglinton on Sunday.

However, their batting saw them post over 200 in both matches with a century for Alan Colhoun, plus fifties for Richard McMorris, Darren Moan and Timmy Dougherty, with the skipper not too downbeat despite the reversals.

“There were certainly a lot of positives to take from the weekend with numerous individuals standing out with both bat and ball,” said Dougherty.

“Keeping up the team spirit is key to carry on to the weekend’s fixtures, with doing that our results will follow. “If we play with the fight we had on Sunday against Eglinton especially, I'm sure we will come down the road from Cregagh with the result we want.”

Killyclooney are still awaiting the arrival of their professional, having been let down by their original choice, but have identified a replacement and are hopeful of him arriving soon.
