The Netherlands ODI Super League series against the West Indies continued today in Amstelveen and whilst the Dutch top three initially offered hope of a win, the rest of the Dutch line-up offered little in the way of runs.

Their innings started with openers Vikramjit Singh and Max O’Dowd putting on 101 before Singh fell in the 21st over for 46, caught by former USA international Hayden Walsh off his own bowling. O’Dowd was out five overs later for 51, the first of four wickets for Akeal Hosein.

Number three Scott Edwards batted until he was the last Dutch wicket to fall in the 49th over, scoring 68, but no other batter was able to contribute in any significant way with nobody else even able to reach double figures.

The final total for the home side was 214, with Akeal Hosein the pick of the West Indian bowlers, taking 4-39.

The Netherlands bowled well initially, the fifth West Indies wicket falling in the 24th over with the score on 99. But Brandon King and Keacy Carty - who hails from the Dutch Caribbean island of Sint Maarten - put on an unbroken 118 to secure a five wicket win with 4.3 overs to spare.

The series concludes on Saturday.
