South Africa Women clinched the T20 international series against Ireland in convincing style, with an eight wickets win at Pembroke.

The opening game victory seemed a long way away as Ireland collapsed from 88 for three to 104 all out and then used seven bowlers, but only Jane Maguire took a wicket, the other to fall, top scorer Laura Goodall, was a run out.

The consolation for Ireland captain Gaby Lewis, ahead of the three-match ODI series starting on Saturday, was being named player of the series for her 112 runs
