Former Bready paceman Craig Young looks set for a return to his old stomping ground over the weekend as the second of the three T20 Festivals takes place from Friday to Sunday.

Young, the leading wicket taker in the competition’s ten year-history, hasn’t featured at all this season after undergoing surgery on a hand injury.

Despite his absence, new Head Coach Boyd Rankin’s charges have acquitted themselves well, with skipper Andy McBrine leading by example as he made back-to-back centuries – the first player to do so since the interpros restarted back in 2013 in the revamped format.

The Warriors currently lie second in the T20 table, having won two of three games in the first T20 weekend at Comber. Young is expected to replace Raymond Curry in the only change from that squad.

The Warriors will have a chance to win the 50 overs Cup for the first time as they play Munster Reds in a winner take all clash at Eglinton on Friday July 1st. Leinster Lightning’s domination of the format came to an end as their match in Cork was washed out on Tuesday. They had made just 135 and the Munster reply was on 55 for 3 when the elements intervened.
