Bready all-rounder Alana Dalzell made her debut for Ireland Women on Tuesday against South Africa at Clontarf. The 21 year-old student scored four and bowled four overs as the Irish were beaten by nine wickets.

Despite the loss it was a very proud day for the Bready Club as their Chairman Norman Allen observed.

“It’s a well-deserved Irish debut for all Alana’s dedication and effort,” said Allen. “It’s certainly a proud moment for her and her parents who have also put in many hours taking her to practice and matches over the years.

“We at Bready are extremely pleased and proud of all that Alana has accomplished. She has set the marker for young girls at Bready and indeed the North West as to what is possible to follow your dreams.”
