As expected, the Ireland Development side completed a 251-run win against Gloucestershire Seconds on the final day of their red-ball match in Bristol.

Home skipper Tom Price held up the victory charge with an excellent century, extending his fifth wicket stand with Max Tryfonos (57) to 107, before their resistance was ended by Instonians left-arm spinner Cian Robertson.

Thumbs up from Cian Robertson

It was the first of three wickets for Roberston, who operated as the lone spinner with Graham Kennedy feeling unwell.

There were three wickets too for Lisburn seamer Josh Manley including the prize scalp of Price, while Graham Hume also took three. The other wicket was taken by David Delany, who softened up the home side batting with a fiery spell of hostile short pitched bowling on a flat track.

The win is all the more remarkable given that is the first red-ball cricket for Pete Johnston's side in three years. It will be interesting to see if any of the team feature if Ireland's Test exile is ended next year.
