Defending champions Leinster Lightning have named a squad of 24 as they attempt to defend their title in the Emerging Interpro series which gets under way next week.

Mitchell Thompson lifted the trophy last year and the all-rounder is one of five YMCA players in Nigel Jones squad.

Balbriggan's strong start to the season is recognized with call-ups for the talented trio of Chris De Freitas, Dylan Lues and Connor Fletcher.

One surprise is the inclusion of Liam McCarthy who has been a regular for Munster Reds in the senior interpros all season.

Séamus Lynch of Terenure has been in scintillating form this past few weeks and it will be interesting if he can reproduce his big hiting on a higher stage.

The Bolts get their season underway at Lisburn next Tuesday, June 28th.
