Namibia completed a second win over Nepal in this leg of CWC League 2 today in Ayr thanks to a maiden ODI five wicket haul for Bernard Scholtz.

Batting first after they won the toss, Namibia found runs tricky to come by, with Gerhard Erasmus top scoring with 53, whilst David Wiese’s 34 was the only other score over 30.

Sandeep Lamichhane took 4-29 as Nepal bowled out Namibia for 199.

Nepal lost opener Kushal Bhurtel for a four ball duck at the start of their innings, though his fellow opener Aasif Sheikh had more success, reaching 34 from 32 balls before he became the first victim for Scholtz.

Dipendra Singh Airee top scored for Nepal with 38 before he was run out.

The wicket triggered a collapse as Nepal lost their last four wickets for just four runs to be bowled out for 136, losing by 63 runs.

Scholtz finished with figures of 5-22, helping to give his team a boost to end the tour with.

Nepal will play Scotland at Titwood in Glasgow when this tri-series concludes tomorrow.

Namibia’s next scheduled action in the tournament will be in September when they will host Papua New Guinea and the USA.
