GABY LEWIS top scored with 47 for Ireland in their second tri-series T20 international in County Tyrone last night but it wasn’t enough to secure the win as a disciplined Pakistan eased home by 13 runs.

In a game reduced to 14 overs per side by rain showers, Jane Maguire was the pick of the Ireland bowlers, taking 2-13 from three overs, while skipper Laura Delany also claimed two wickets in a Pakistan total of 92-5.

The DLS calculation set Ireland a victory target of 97 which openers Lewis and Rebecca Stokell made a big dent in by reaching 54 for no wicket at the halfway stage on the Bready CC ground.

Stokell swung across the line in the next over and was bowled for 19 from 24 balls and the Pakistan spinners choked off the runs so effectively that the Girls in Green did not find a boundary in the second half of their innings.

With 18 required from the final over, Lewis was run out for 47 from 41 balls, including five boundaries, and two further wickets fell as Ireland ended on 83-6.
