Siúin Woods launched the Women’s Future Series with a bang as she carried her bat with an unbeaten century in Leinster’s huge win over the NCU.

The YMCA batter hit 10 fours and 2 sixes in an unbeaten 123 from 127 balls, sharing an opening stand of 92 with Christina Coulter-Reilly (49) in a Leinster total of 281 for 5.

Jess Mayes (2-46) was the pick of the NCU attack.

The chase never got going as only Gracie Keenan (14) and Jemma Gillan (12) reached double figures as they were bundled out for 57.

Malahide’s Maria Kerrison took 4 for 17, while there were also wickets for Kimli McDonald (2-3), Katie Dillon (1-0), Sarah Condron (1-11) and Isobel McCormack (1-17) in the 224-run win.

It was a double for Leinster as their Under 17s edged out the North West by two wickets in a low-scoring game at Foyle College.

The hosts were well placed at 81 for 2 just past the half-way stage with runs for Arianna McKenna (28) and Mollie Devine (20).

However they slumped to 103 all out with Freya Sargent (3-13) and Aimee Maguire (3-18) doing the bulk of the damage.

Isobel Light (21) got the Dubliners reply off to a solid start, but the introduction of Zara Craig (4-14) changed the complexion of the chase.

Two run outs, plus a wicket each for Kia McCartney and Mollie Devine had the game in the balance, but Leinster’s 9th wicket pair of Alice Tector and Niamh McNulty got them over the line.
