CWC Challenge League A continued in Canada yesterday with Vanuatu and Singapore both recording wins.

Vanuatu took on Malaysia in their match, with the latter choosing to bat first after they won the toss. Khizar Hayat’s unbeaten 42 was their only score of note as they were bowled out for just 124. Nalin Nipiko was the pick of the Vanuatu bowlers with 3-42.

Singapore’s match against Qatar was a higher scoring affair, with Singapore batting first and scoring 244-9. Twin scores of 52 from Arjun Mutreja and Aryaman Sunil helped them post 244-9 from their 50 overs. Sunil’s innings came from 34 balls and Ikramullah Khan’s 3-48 was the best bowling for Qatar.

Aryaman Sunil followed his unbeaten 52 by taking 3-39 as Qatar were kept to 213-9 after rain adjusted their target to 220 in 42 overs. Mohammad Rizlan top scored for Qatar, also scoring 52 as they lost by 6 runs.
