Norway have secured promotion to next year’s European Under-19 Division One Championship, the final phase of European qualifying for the 2024 Under-19 World Cup.

The Isle of Man were put into bat and scored 296 before they lost their last wicket from the last delivery of their match. Christian Webster top scored with 112 from 89 balls. Baryalai Patekhel took 5-49 for the Norwegians. Chaudhary Akram then scored a superb unbeaten 160 from 106 balls as Norway won by seven wickets with 8.5 overs to spare.

The win secures Norway’s spot in Division One where they will play Jersey, Netherlands and Scotland along with the other sides promoted from Division Two Guernsey and Italy.

Those sides met in today’s final, with Guernsey batting first after being put in. Joseph Marshall top scored with an unbeaten 47 as the home side were bowled out for 169, Katupellallage Fonseka taking 4-27. Marco Giaconi scored an unbeaten 51 as Italy chased down their target in 38 overs to win by six wickets.

Denmark beat Sweden by 57 runs in the fifth place play-off after a knock of 107 from 69 balls from number eight batter Manson Khan, whilst in the seventh place play-off Germany beat France by 8 wickets.
