Ireland Academy lost their three-day game at Lougborough to England Under 19s, but it was a thrilling battle that went to the final hour.

England declared their first innings 85 behind, and then skittled the visitors for 132, despite runs for Philippe Le Roux (41*), concussion sub Ryan Karunakaran (27) and Tim Tector (23).

Set 218 to win, England looked beaten as Matthew Humphreys took five wickets to have them at 176 for 7, but an unbroken eighth wicket stand of 46 got them over the line.
