Brigade salvaged a trophy from a disappointing season as they beat Coleraine by 98 runs in an entertaining contest at Newbuildings.

David Barr’s 70 and Jamie Millar’s 62 were the highlights of their second innings total of 262, with runs too for Adam McDaid (35) and Ifty Hussain (27) - setting Coleraine a tough target of 277.

There were three wickets for Rory Knox, including two in two balls, the second of which was first innings centurion Andy Britton first ball.

The Bannsiders lost Scott Campbell in the first over, but half centuries from Matthew Hutchinson (55) and Marcus Poskitt (53) had the game in the balance at 129 for 2.

However, the dismissal of Karunaratne by Man-of-the-Match Millar (2-40), saw them lose their last eight wickets for 48.

Ryan MacBeth (4-25) and Ifty Hussain (3-33) also amongst the wickets in a morale boosting win for the Beechgrove side.
