There is no shortage of Irish interest in the India Legends T20 league that gets under way on Friday.

William Porterfield, John Mooney and Kevin O'Brien are among the players who have signed up for the glittering tournament featuring some of the best players in world cricket over the last 20 years.

John Mooney lines up for the Indian Capitals alongside players of the calibre of Gautam Gambhir, Jacques Kallis, Ross Taylor, Ravi Bopara, Liam Plunkett and Mitchell Johnson.

Former Ireland skipper Porterfield has been recruited by the Bhilwal Kings, and amongst his team mates will be Shane Watson, Matt Prior, Fidel Edwards and Tino Best.

Kevin O'Brien, who like Porterfield retired from Ireland international cricket earlier this year, is included in the Gujarat Giants squad, and he will be lining up with Virender Sehwag, Lendl Simmons and Daniel Vettori.

The competition gets under way on Friday September 16th, and runs until October 5th.
