Scotland beat the Netherlands by 18 runs in their T20 World Cup warm-up match in Melbourne.

Skipper Richie Berrington top-scored for the Scots, hitting 3 fours and 2 sixes in his 41, while there quick runs too for Michael Leask (37) and Matthew Cross (27) in their total of 151 for 7.

Brandon Glover and Bas de Leede each claimed three wickets for the Oranje.

Stephan Myburgh went in the first over of the chase, but a stand of 64 in 10 overs between Max O'Dowd (43) and Vikram Singh (31) saw a solid platform laid.

The required rate though had crept up, and scoreboard pressure told as Scotland restricted them to 133 for 7, with Brad Wheal (2-24) and Mark Watt (1-19) the pick of the bowlers.

In the other warm-up game, West Indies beat UAE by 17 runs in a remarkably similar match.

Brandon King top-scored with 64, while skipper Nicholas Pooran hit 5 sixes as West Indies made 152 for 9, despite Junaid Siddique taking 5 for 13.

The UAE got to 135 for 6 in the chase, thanks to an unbeaten 69 from opener Muhammad Waseem, who shared a seventh wicket stand of 53 with Zawar Farid (29*).

Tuesday's games see Ireland play Namibia at the MCG, while Sri Lanka take on Zimbabwe.
