Former Clontarf batter Una Raymond-Hoey has been drafted into the Melbourne Stars squad for the Women's Big Bash League.

Raymond-Hoey won 15 caps for Ireland between 2014 and 2019, with her highest score of 42 coming in a One-Day International at her home ground of Castle Avenue against New Zealand.

The 25 year-old was drafted in as a local player, having emigrated to Australia to work, and play cricket.

There will be no shortage of players at the franchise to make URH feel welcome, with fellow former international Kim Garth there, as well as Sasha Moloney, who was overseas professional at Clontarf, and her boyfriend Tom Rogers.

The Stars first match is on Saturday against Brisbane Heat.
