Another tri-series in CWC League 2 began today in Namibia where the hosts are taking on Papua New Guinea and USA.

Papua New Guinea were the opponents for the hosts today and their wretched run continued as they fell to a 22nd defeat in 25 matches.

Namibia captain Gerhard Erasmus won the toss and asked PNG to bat first. Their innings started badly when Gaudi Toka was dismissed for a second ball duck and the upper order mostly found runs hard to come by with the fifth wicket falling in the 17th over with the score on 29,

PNG skipper Assad Vala offered the only resistance, scoring 44 in the PNG total of 107. Seven bowlers were used by Namibia with six of them taking at least one wicket. Tangeni Lungameni was the pick of the bunch, taking two wickets for only nine runs in six overs.

Lo-handre Louwrens and Divan la Cock started the Namibian reply with a 60 run partnership before the former fell in the eighth over having scored 36 from 24 balls. La Cock scored 25 whilst Michael van Lingen scored an unbeaten 29 to help secure an eight wicket win in just 15.1 overs.

Namibia will take on the USA tomorrow, whilst Papua New Guinea will play the Americans on Tuesday.
