We may already know the identity of the winners of Challenge League A after Canada's win yesterday but there is still the matter of relegation to a planned play-off tournament with four teams from the T20I rankings to decide.

One team that we now know will be in that play-off is Vanuatu after their defeat against Qatar today in Kuala Lumpur. Vanuatu were put into bat and were bowled out for 172, Josh Rasu top scoring with 47. An unbeaten 66 from Muhammad Tanveer helped Qatar chase down their target with 6.1 overs to spare to win by four wickets.

In the other match of the day, Singapore's Aritra Dutta fell just short of a maiden century as he reached 99 against Denmark before being caught behind. His innings helped Singapore post 217-9 from their 50 overs, but Denmark were able to overcome that target, winning by 2 wickets with 3.4 overs to spare. Nicolaj Laegsgaard top scored for them with 61 from 58 balls.

The tournament continues on Friday with hosts Malaysia needing to beat Qatar if they are to keep their slim hopes of staying up alive. Canada play Denmark in the other match.
