Gaby Lewis has won the Irish Times/Sport Ireland Sportswoman of the Month award for November.

Lewis played an integral role as her team bounced back from a whitewash in the ODI series to claim the Player of the Series accolade as Ireland beat Pakistan in the T20I series.

"I am delighted to have been recognised as The Irish Times/Sport Ireland Sportswoman of the Month and be considered for the annual award alongside legendary Irish female athletes and sports stars," said Lewis.

"To make a list like this is a personal honour, but in reality, speaks to the progress that women's sport and female athletes have made across Ireland in such a wide range of sports. Boxing, horse racing, football, athletics, cricket...it has been a great year for Irish sport on the whole, but women's sport in particular.

"In respect to my own chosen sport, it may be an individual award, but cricket is very much a team sport. We have a great Our recent successful tour to Pakistan, qualification for next year's T20 World Cup and the growth of profile and participation across the grassroots of our sport has demonstrated Irish cricket's potential - where attention and investment in the women's game has gone, positive outcomes have followed.

"Congratulations to all the monthly winners this year, and thanks to The Irish Times for your ongoing support for women's sport.
