Former England international Gary Ballance is likely to be included in the Zimbabwe squad for their six-match home series against Ireland next month.

The 33 year-old was released from his contract by Yorkshire last week and has signed a two-year deal with Zimbabwe, where he was born and also played for during the 2006 Under 19 World Cup in Sri Lanka.

Ballance played in 23 Tests and 16 ODI's for England, the last of which was in 2017. There is a three year stand-out period between representing Full Member countries, meaning he is elgible for inclusion in the Zimbabwean squad immediately.
