CIYMS signing Tyron Koen has been named in the Northern Knights interpro squad.

The South African all-rounder was overseas professional at NW side Ardmore, but is switching to Belmont after qualifying for resident status.

Also added to Simon Johnston's extended 17-man squad are Irish Academy player Max Burton, the Instonians duo of Cade Carmichael and Cian Robertson, North Down's Tom Mayes and Ani Chore, as well as former Irish youth international Morgan Topping of Waringstown, and CIYMS opener John Matchett.

Omitted from the squad are Ben White, who is off to Munster Reds, as well as Luke Georgeson and Jeremy Lawlor, who have revised their plans about representing Ireland.

"We feel we have a very exciting and young senior training panel in place for the winter, the boys have been in for 5 weeks now, and their attitude and dedication has been fantastic to watch," said Head Coach Simon Johnston.

"It's also been great to be able to combine the Emerging and U19 players into some senior sessions where we can, to test the boys in those environments on and this is something we will continue to do throughout the winter."
