The North West Warriors have turned to youth in an attempt to put a disappointing 2022 campaign behind them.

Boyd Rankin's side has 11 of the 12 players named last year, with only the retired William Porterfield absent, meaning six Irish internationals in the ranks.

Five of those six internationals now ply their trade outside the region, and with Nathan McGuire back at Rush and Jared Wilson off to the NCU, no fewer than seven of the main squad will be based outside the North West.

The additonal players named in the extended squad of 20 has a youthful feel, with the emphasis very much on local development.

Raymond Curry, Josh Wilson, Gavin Roulston, Tommy Orr, Robbie Millar, Scott Macbeth, and Trent McKeegan all offer a glimpse of the future, and Rankin will be hoping they kick on and provide local strength in depth for the Warriors.
