Kenya hosted a four nation women's T20I tournament this past week in Nairobi, with African rivals Uganda and Tanzania opposing them alongside Qatar in a rare cross-regional event at this level.

Home captain Sharon Juma won the toss at the Gymkhana Club ground and chose to have her team bat first. Some tight bowling from Uganda - who topped the table after the round-robin phase - helped bowl Kenya out for 80. Evelyn Anyipo was the leading bowler with 3-12.

Uganda had little trouble chasing down their target, winning by six wickets in 11.3 overs. Prosscovia Alako was their top scorer with 30 from just 13 balls. Their only blemish in the entire tournament came when they lost to Tanzania in their fourth match.

Earlier, Tanzania beat Qatar by 28 runs in the third place play-off, ending a disappointing tour for Qatar who lost all seven matches. An earlier match between the two sides saw Tanzania's captain Fatuma Kibasu make history - her unbeaten 101 made her the first woman to score three T20I centuries.
