MERRION

  • Captain: Dom Joyce
  • Overseas professional: Sam Harbinson
  • Players in:
  • Players out: Amish Sidhu
  • Young players to watch: Daniel Forkin, Seb Dijkstra.

It was a low key 2022 season for Merrion who will be hoping for better fortunes in the forthcoming campaign.

The club have a new overseas player, Sam Harbinson, who is an Australian from Victoria. He has Irish ancestry and is very keen to play representative cricket in Ireland.

Spinner Amish Sidhu has left to rejoin Phoenix.

The club are hopeful that former Irish international Max Sorensen will be able to play a much bigger part this year.

They have identified teenage spinners Daniel Forkin and Seb Dijkstra as two youngsters worth keeping an eye on for the season.

Dom Joyce is the new captain for the campaign, in what could well be the career swansong for the veteran former Irish international.

"For the season ahead really it’s all about looking to get back to winning trophies and competing in all competitions," said Joyce.

Merrion start their season on Saturday April 29th with T20 clashes against Dublin University in College Park and Leinster in Rathmines.
