Leinster Lightning haven't ruled out David Delany from their interprovincial plans for the 2023 season.

The Irish international is currently in Australia but Lightning have kept the channels of communication open for the Clontarf speedster, and are hopeful he will feature as they attempt to regain the 50 overs Cup as well as retaining the T20 Trophy.

Lightning's depth has been tested with 27 of the 52 players named in core squads based in the region.

That will be further complicated by the limited availability of their senior internationals with any representation from those in the current squads considered a bonus.

Head Coach Nigel Jones will cast his net wide with performances in early season domestic matches certain to put players firmly in the interprovincial spotlight.

Lightning start their season next week when they take on Northern Knights (Tues) and Munster Reds (Thurs) at Sydney Parade.
