Munster Reds Head Coach Jeremy Bray has paid tribute to his side after the defending champions inflicted the second reverse of the campaign on Leinster Lightning at Sydney Parade.

The home side posted 287 thanks primarily to Mark Donegan's 87, while there were three wickets apiece for the impressive Mick Granger and Tyrone Kane.

'TK' then shared in a competition record stand for the fourth wicket of 155 with Murray Commins as the pair built on the century opening stand between Murray Commins and Ali Frost - the quartet all getting half centuries.

Teenager Reuben Wilson claimed a five-wicket haul - including three in an over - joining Barry McCarthy, Tyrone Kane and skipper George Dockrell as the Lightning bowlers who have achieved the feat.

"I'm absolutely delighted to get the win after a fine all-round display," Bray told CricketEurope.

"Our openers got us off to a super start adding well over 100 and that laid the platform for the successful chase.

"I thought the bowling was outstanding, spearheaded by Mick Granger who I'd higlighted to you before the series started as one to watch. I couldn't understand why he hadn't featured before and he is showing just what he is all about.

"I'm also very excited by Liam McCarthy and the progress he has made over the winter. That x-factor around that extra bit of pace and bounce that he extracts. I think he is just going to go from strength and it mightn't be too long before you see him in the green of Ireland.

"It was great having Curtis Campher and Gareth Delany in the squad. They add quality and depth to the line-up as well as international experience."

Munster Reds are back in action on Monday, when they face Northern Knights at Stormont )10:45am).
