The T20 Trophy gets underway on Tuesday with all four sides missing a plethora of Irish internationals, meaning a number of new faces for the three days.

The home side Munster Reds - who narrowly failed to pull off a historic double success last season - will hope to kick things off with a victory in the opening game on Tuesday, when they take on the North West Warriors, while 2022 winners Leinster Lightning will start their title defence against the Northern Knights in the second game of the day.

Munster Reds have included Danish international Nicolaj Damgaard, along with on-loan players, wicket-keeper Connor Fletcher, Nathan Maguire, and Josh Manley. They will be captained by Tyrone Kane, with PJ Moor and Curtis Campher missing, and Mike Frost unavailable due to exams.

Paul Stirling, Mark Adair and James McCollum are absent from the Northern Knights, who have called-up Jason van der Merwe, as well as CSNI teenagers Finn Lutton and Harry Dyer.

Ruhan Pretorius comes into the festival on the back of his double hundred for Woodvale at the weekend, while Neil Rock will captain the team.

Leinster Lightning field their weakest squad (on paper)  in the 11-year hisstory of the competition. Already depleted by the franchise nature of the interpros, the absence of the majority of their senior players gives the squad a Future Series look.

Amish Sidhu returns to the Lightning squad, while Seamus Lynch and Joey Carroll are drafted in. Tim Tector skippers the side who have an average age of 23.

The Warriors bowling stocks are severely depleted, missing a quartet of Irish internaionals - Andy McBrine, Craig Young, Graham Hume and Conor Olphert.

There is a recall for Strabane captain Aaron Gillespie, while Eglinton's Irish passsport holding South African Liam Doherty is named for the first time.

St Johnston's Head Coach Graeme McCarter travelling as Assistant Coach to Boyd Rankin.
