The Hills have confirmed that Danish international Nicolaj Damgaard Laegsgaard will be returning to Milverton for the 2024 campaign.

The powerful all-rounder was a big hit on and off the field with his exploits and is only too happy to be back at the Fingal club.

"I'm so happy to re-sign my contract with The Hills," he said.

"Getting back to play cricket in Ireland was something I was aiming for, and to play another season at the Vineyard is a big plus for me.

"It's one of the friendliest clubs I've come across, so it wasn't a hard decision to make when they contacted me."

The Hills' Cricket Committee Chairman Baz Grimes was delighted at the signing saying; "We are delighted to welcome Nicolaj back to The Vineyard for the upcoming 2024 season.

"Nico had a huge impact around the club last season, fitting in seamlessly. He was very generous with his time for all members and, in particular, our youths who adored him.

"With 650 runs and 38 wickets across all formats, not forgetting his 30-ball hundred against Merrion, we look forward to seeing what he can do in 2024.

"We extend a warm Hills welcome to his partner,  Catherine,  who will be involved with our ladies section, too.

"Welcome home, big fella!"
