Irish women still without a win

South Africa made it three wins out of three, this time defeating Ireland by eight wickets.

After losing the toss, Cri-Zelda Brits side took to the field and Ireland's opening batters managed to hold together a 37-run partnership, until it was broken by Angelique Taai who dismissed Clare Shillington for 22 off 40 balls in the 11th over.

The Irish batters put up a brave fight, Isobel Joyce scoring 23 runs, but it was Laura Delany who kept her side in the game, she was unbeaten for 40 off 83 balls and Ireland posted a competitive 162 at the end of its innings.

In reply, the South African top order showed its class in a dazzling display of cricket, with Mignon du Preez and Brits top scoring with 66 and 60 respectively. Trisha Chetty fought well for her 22 off 23 balls only to be dismissed by Amy Keanly in the 10th over.

Shandre Fritz (7) again failed to fire with the bat, with the 25-year-old currently averaging just 10.66 runs from the three games she has featured.
