Ireland lost the third T20I by 72 runs as they were swept aside by a powerful batting display by West Indies, with Hayley Matthews hitting a century.

It was a day of records at Sydney Parade as Player of the Series Matthews hit 9 sixes and 7 fours on her way to a maiden T20I century - her unbeaten 107 coming from just 62 balls. She shared a second wicket stand of 162 with Chedean Nation who hit 63* from 46 balls to lead the West Indies to their highest T20 total - 188 for 1.

The Irish attack suffered with the wet ball, bowling a succession of full tosses, many of which were deposited over the wall at Pembroke. The fielders also struggled, a number of catches being spilled from which the batters took the full benefit.

The Irish reply saw Gaby Lewis (8) depart early, and from then on Mary Waldron and Kim Garth shared a record T20I partnership for the Girls In Green, adding a run-a-ball 94 before Garth (45) fell in the last over. Waldron remained unbeaten on 55 from 62 balls (4 fours), registering her maiden T20I half century, as Ireland closed on 116 for 3.
