Ireland put their two recent losses behind them to power to a record-breaking total before rain forced the abandonment of their T20 international against The Netherlands in Deventer.

Gaby Lewis top scored with 71, hitting 6 fours and 4 sixes in her 41-ball innings - her highest score in the format.

The YMCA teenager shared a record stand of 112 with fellow teenager Orla Prendergast, who hit five boundaries in her 38 from 26 balls.

Leah Paul (14), Rebecca Stokell (36), Mary Waldron (31*) and skipper Laura Delany (8*) all kept the rate going and the final total of 213 for 4 was a record for the Women in the format, and the 7th highest in a women's T20I.

Alas with just 16 balls of the Dutch reply, torrential rain saw the match abandoned, with the hosts on 18 for 1 - Eimear Richardson the successful bowler.

The Irish are back in action on Tuesday morning (10am) when they face Thailand - who saw their 17 game winning streak ended by Scotland this morning - 14 year-old Kathryn Fraser taking three wickets.
